Micro blogging is such an effective tool in both education and athletics. In today's society people are so connected to instant messaging. Using micro blogging is an effective way to communicate in a fast and efficient way to communicate with teams, students and supporters. It is also a way for people to feel involved with the system and be able to give input for improvement. I think that as micro blogging is used there need to be guidelines established to ensure that nothing destructive or harmful in any way is posted on a team or classroom site. It is so important to ensure that positive messages are being used to enlighten, educate, and build.
Bill,
I too have found that microblogging can be extremely useful in the education/athletic arena. Getting information out to my teams in regards to my practice time changes or travel time changes can be very helpful. Unfortunately, however, I think most of us have also heard of the negative uses of microblogging. When students get behind the safety of their screens and use disruptive language to upset the chemistry of a team, I agree there needs to be some kind of accountability.

I really agree on your comment about the negative uses of microblogging. For every positive comment on a blog there is at least one negative comment to match. There is a right way to disagree with someone's views and there is also a mean, negative way that could be harmful. There definitely needs to be rules behind microblogging if a team is involved.

I love being a husband and father. It is the greatest thing in my life. In my spare time I like to coach, fish, camp, and ski.
